The Brockenbahn is a meter-gauge railroad line used mainly for tourism. It runs from Wernigerode via Drei Annen Hohne on the Harzquerbahn and Schierke to the Brocken.
At 1142 m above sea level, the Brocken is the highest mountain in the Harz low mountain range, in Saxony-Anhalt and in the whole of northern Germany. It is located in the Schierke district of the town of Wernigerode in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt.
